Iraqi Center for the
development of citizenship and democracy:

Institution independent Iraqi non-governmental and
non-profit organization headquartered in the province of Dhi Qar,
and will have branches in other Iraqi cities, as well as
international representation will have outside of Iraq. Interested
in the affairs of the Iraqi citizen political, economic, social,
cultural, media, and is concerned with the revival of transmission
and maintenance of the spirit of citizenship, democracy and the
awareness of intellectual and cultural cooperation between members
of Iraqi society, and reject all manifestations of violence,
underdevelopment, and all the erroneous practices that prevent human
progress of Iraq and its development.
The idea of establishing the centre - because of Iraq has passed
through the destruction and devastation and disruption in a fabric
of the national front in Iraq for more than a quarter of a century
ago, as a result of such arbitrary practices brought to bear on the
Iraqi citizen by the dictatorships that ruled Iraq and control the
military and one-party system to Authority and the State which led
to the reduction of state person leader and transforming the country
from a national to a state of tyranny and repression, and this
behaviour is the immoral contributed not to deepen the concept of
citizenship and to weakening the sense of belonging to the homeland
and killing the spirit of citizenship, which led to resort to the
tribe and community compensation for the association of the nation.
As well as the historic transformation which has happened in Iraq
after the ninth of June 2003 and the author of this change, the
challenges and repercussions of sectarian and ethnic lines emerged
from the political situation and reinforced by political entities
manifested in the creation of a split within the unity of the
national and polarization of sectarian and political inside and
outside Iraq, as well as the scourge of financial and administrative
corruption, murder and displacement and mass displacement within
Iraq and outside it, all those practices and behaviours have
hampered national unity and a true understanding of good
citizenship.
It says the centre as a nucleus of thought lays the foundation for a
national culture within Iraqi society, through a strategy of
intellectual and integrated process designed to achieve the
communication and the convergence of the differing national views,
and the voice of a national expression of the desire of the masses
in reshaping the concept of citizenship and the framework of the
same country far from all the considerations and narrow partisan
interests.
The Centre seeks to strengthen the role of citizenship and outlines
the concept of home in the hearts of citizens and determine the
rights and duties of citizens. And rebuild the country on the basis
of citizenship, democracy and social justice, cultural awareness
through the dissemination of national and promote the spirit of
citizenship in various ways and means of democracy
